Summer is such a relief and exciting break from the white Colorado winter, the wetness of spring, and I anticipate it with relish! Preparing my garden beds for this years’ plants, seedlings being cultivated in my kitchen, learning when the frost is really over…Many things to consider as I travel into summer and gardening.
The joy of creating comes in many forms, and for me, watering and watching my seedlings grow and mature, surprising me with flowers and fruits and vegetables along the way, is beyond my happy-place.
In the fall, after harvesting my zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, watermelon, carrots and beets, I’ll prepare the grounds for winter and come back inside to my studio, and bring with me all the joy of the growing season to my work.
Looking forward as I pay attention to what is before me, anticipating what lies ahead.
